The House

Porte Rouge is an attractive and comfortable 18th Century three-bedroom garden cottage in the peaceful hamlet of Sivignon, near the Abbey town of Cluny in southern Burgundy.

The house is fully furnished in French rural style and has all the necessities to provide a comfortably memorable vacation among the rolling hills and forests of central France. Perfect in all seasons, the house is centrally heated for exquisite comfort, even in the depths of a Burgundian winter.

A chef’s kitchen is complemented by two cellars with a wine collection of local drops available on an honour system. Just take what you enjoy and replace it for the next visitors from your travels through the caves and vineyards of the region. Cellar door tasting was never so much fun.

For the active, there are bicycles and sporting equipment, and a small library for those less physically inclined. Naturally, English-language satellite television is available to keep up with world events.
